Pricing 

The price for our grass-fed beef is based on the hanging weight, and the fees paid to the processor are also based on the hanging weight. This is for cutting and wrapping, which is sometimes referred to as butcher fees.

Hanging weight is the most widely used measurement by processors and direct-to-market ranchers. Hanging weight refers to the weight of the beef after the initial harvesting of the steer but, before final cutting and trimming after it has been dry-aged. This is sometimes also referred to as the hot carcass weight or dressed weight.

Grass-fed beef

  • $6.00/lb whole beef
  • $6.25/lb half beef
  • $6.50/lb quarter beef

Processing fees: (Subject to change by our processor and updated as needed)

Butchering fees – cutting and wrapping – .80/lb. *

Harvest fee – $100 whole beef – $50 half beef – $25 quarter beef *

* Processing and harvesting fees are invoiced by the processor. 


Total Cost

Whole Steer: 

  • A whole beef will typically have a hang weight of approximately 500lbs.
  • A final cut and wrapped weight of approximately 360-380lbs. 
  • Requires a freezer approximately 14-16 cubic feet.
  • Will supply a family of 6 for 18 months on average.
  • Custom cut and packaged to your specifications.
  • Best value per pound with the most customization options.
  • Includes free delivery.
  • Total cost- (including all processing fees): approximately $3,500.00.
  • Packaging and billing accommodations can be made for multiple parties.
  • Whole Steer Deposit: $500.00 

 

Half Steer: 

  • A half beef will typically have a hang weight of approximately 250lbs.
  • A final cut and wrapped weight of approximately 180-190lbs.
  • Requires a freezer approximately 7-8 cubic feet.
  • Will supply a family of 4 for 12 months on average.
  • Custom cut and packaged to your specifications.
  • Includes free delivery.
  • Total cost – (including all processing fees): approximately $1,800.00.
  • Packaging and billing accommodations can be made for multiple parties.
  • Half Steer Deposit: $300.00

 

Quarter Steer: 

  • A quarter beef will typically have a hang weight of approximately 125lbs.
  • A final cut and wrapped weight of approximately 90-95lbs.
  • Requires a freezer approximately 3-5 cubic feet.
  • Will supply a family of 4 for 6 months on average.
  • Limited customization options.
  • Includes free delivery.
  • Total cost – (including all processing fees): approximately $950.00.
  • Quarter Steer Deposit: $200.00

*Please Note: a quarter beef must have the same steak cuts as another quarter when being processed and therefore has limited customization options. Please see the beef cuts and sizes page for the cuts included.

 

Balances less deposit are due prior to pick up/delivery.
