Pricing 

The price for our grass-fed beef is based on the hanging weight, and the fees paid to the processor are also based on the hanging weight. This is for cutting and wrapping, which is sometimes referred to as butcher fees.

Hanging weight is the most widely used measurement by processors and direct-to-market ranchers. Hanging weight refers to the weight of the beef after the initial harvesting of the steer but, before final cutting and trimming after it has been dry-aged. This is sometimes also referred to as the hot carcass weight or dressed weight.

Premium grass-fed Angus beef – Dry aged 14-18 days:*

  • $6.25/lb. –  Whole Steer 
  • $6.50/lb.  – Half Steer 
  • $6.75/lb.  – Quarter Steer 

* No vaccines, antibiotics or growth hormones. 


Custom Processing and Packaging: *

Butchering fees: Cutting & Wrapping – .89/lb. 

Harvest fees:

  • $120 – Whole Steer 
  • $60   – Half Steer 
  • $30   – Quarter Steer

* Processing and harvesting fees are invoiced by the processor. 


Total Cost

Whole Steer: 

  • Approximate hang weight of 500lbs.
  • Approximate cut and wrapped weight of 380lbs. 
  • Requires a freezer approximately 14-16 cubic feet.
  • Will supply a family of 6 for 18 months on average.
  • Custom cut and packaged to your specifications.
  • Best value per pound with the most customization options.
  • Includes free delivery.
  • Packaging and billing accommodations can be made for multiple parties.
  • Total cost- (including all processing fees): approximately $3,700.00.
  • Whole Steer Deposit: $500.00 

 

Half Steer: 

  • Approximate hang weight of 250lbs.
  • Approximate cut and wrapped weight of 190lbs.
  • Requires a freezer approximately 7-8 cubic feet.
  • Will supply a family of 4 for 12 months on average.
  • Custom cut and packaged to your specifications.
  • Includes free delivery.
  • Packaging and billing accommodations can be made for multiple parties.
  • Total cost – (including all processing fees): approximately $1,900.00.
  • Half Steer Deposit: $300.00

 

Quarter Steer: 

  • Approximate hang weight of 125lbs.
  • Approximate cut and wrapped weight of 95lbs.
  • Requires a freezer approximately 3-5 cubic feet.
  • Will supply a family of 4 for 6 months on average.
  • Limited customization options.
  • Includes free delivery.
  • Total cost – (including all processing fees): approximately $995.00.
  • Quarter Steer Deposit: $200.00

*Please Note: a quarter beef must have the same steak cuts as another quarter when being processed and therefore has limited customization options. Please see the beef cuts and sizes page for the cuts included.
